(March 11, 2012)

Wow, apologies that it's been a while since I updated things here, the great news is that I 've been involved in lots of great projects and events that have been somewhat occupying my time.

On the teaching front things are officially thriving! I was touched yesterday actually by a new adult student who commented " I hope you don't mind me saying, but out of my 3 teachers (two were previous ones) you seem to really enjoy teaching". My resonse? "I love it!" For me there's no greater treat that seeing anothers enjoyment as they learn new skills and begin to gain control over this wonderful instrument that they've bought. I've always enjoyed exploring different ways to teach a concept and the look on your student's face when they experience that 'light bulb' moment.

I'm busy arranging things for our informal student concert on 31st March and preparing to act as accompanist for ABRSM exams on 20th March. Also there'll be the ensemble workshops no doubt later in the year, AND new to this year I'm encouraging ALL my students (and particularly encouring my many adult students who often don't get the chance) to take part in my monthly ensemble sessions; the repertoire will be basic but as individuals gain confidence they will be 'promoted' to more advanced groups. The first session is likely to take place in late March or mid April; Saturday's  12.30 - 2.00pm at Sharley Park Community school, Clay Cross.

Performance wise I was invited to play at the Emmanuel centre in London, which seated 2000 people (and I believe it was full almost to capacity). It was a huge blessing to just go with the Holy Spirit and let loose sax-wise! Things have been moving forward with Equinox saxophone ensemble as we come out of Winter hibernation and begin our concert season. We're also delighted to have been offered a chance to perform at the World Saxophone congress 2012 between 10th - 15th July so am really looking forward to that.

and finally.....http://www.masquerade-music.co.uk my sheet music publishing company (specialing in new original, and accessible sheet music for wind players) is stomping from strength to strength. Never happy at staying stationary, I have been constantly looking for ways to improve in all areas so recently we upgraded our printing systems and insist on minimum 100g thickness paper (many publishers use thinner paper but music can be visible through it and hence quite off putting for the musician). We have stunning new cover designs for 2012 and tamper proof CD wallets and in the first year we have succeeded in getting all our publications onto www.musicroom.com probably the biggest online sheet music store. A big BIG thank you to all of you who have taken the time to visit the site, give lovely feedback and to friends and family for your patience when I'm tied to the computer occasionally until the early hours! ;)

Bye for now,

Keri.
